Cookie Policy

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies are common across the web - they keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and help sites work properly. Local storage works the same way but holds more data and never expires on its own.

What we use

We use two kinds of cookies and local storage: the ones the service needs to work, which are always on, and measurement tools, which are off until you press "Accept": Google Analytics, and Meta’s ad measurement (the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API).

Always on: needed for the service

These do not need your consent because the service cannot work without them.

  • Sign-in session cookies (names start with sb-), set by our authentication provider, Supabase. They keep you signed in as you move between pages.
  • Session hint cookie (session_present). It only says whether you are signed in, so the public pages can show "Play free" or "Continue playing". It is not used to decide what you may access.
  • Language cookie (ls-lang). Set only when you pick a language with the language switcher, so we remember your choice for a year.
  • Local storage on your device: your cookie choice (ls-cookie-consent, which records whether you pressed Accept or Reject), your game settings such as sound (slotara:prefs), and the currency you picked last time you bought chips (pay-currency). Your game settings and currency are never sent to us or to anyone else. Your cookie choice is sent to our server only when you sign up or buy chips, so it knows whether it may tell Meta about that sign-up or purchase (see below).

Only if you accept: Google Analytics

If you press "Accept", we load Google Analytics, a service from Google. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*and measures visits: which pages are viewed and how people reach the site. We use that to see what works and what does not. If you press "Reject" or do not choose, Google Analytics is never loaded and sets no cookies.

Only if you accept: Meta’s ad measurement

If you press "Accept", we also use tools from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, to measure which of our ads bring players.

The Meta Pixel loads in your browser. It tells Meta which pages of our site you visit, with your IP address and your browser and device type, and it sets two cookies: _fbp, which recognises your browser on later visits, and _fbc, which records the ad you clicked to reach us, if you came from one. Meta sets how long they last (usually about 90 days).

When you sign up or buy chips after accepting, our server also tells Meta directly, through Meta’s Conversions API: that you created an account or made a purchase, the purchase value in US dollars, your email address and account number in hashed form (turned into a code that hides them but lets Meta match them to a Facebook or Instagram account), your IP address, your browser, and the values of the two cookies above. Meta uses this to show us which ads led to sign-ups and purchases, and also uses it under its own privacy policy.

If you press "Reject" or do not choose, the Meta Pixel is never loaded, it sets no cookies, and our server sends Meta nothing about you. Our server follows the choice you had made at the moment you signed up or pressed buy.

What we do not use

We do not use any other advertising cookies or tools, and we do not show other companies’ ads on the site. Google Analytics and Meta’s tools are the only third-party measurement tools on the site, and only with your consent.

Your choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject the measurement cookies and tools above (Google Analytics and Meta’s). Both choices are equal: the site works the same either way. You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page and in Settings inside the game. If you reject after accepting, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel stop measuring and we remove their cookies from the page you are on; they are not loaded on later visits, and our server sends Meta nothing about sign-ups or purchases you make from then on.

You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. You will be signed out when you do, because the session cookie is what keeps you signed in.

Changes to this policy

If we add a new kind of cookie or tool, we will update this page and ask for your consent before it is used, where the law requires it.
